Texas Refining Corporation (TRC)

TRC was a crude oil refinery producing heavy tar products. After it was acquired, management arranged for a crude oil allocation from a sovereign oil company, assuring a continued supply of crude. In addition, TRC upgraded its products to lighter gasoline distillates selling at higher prices than heavy tar products. It was sold to a domestic refiner which greatly valued the refinery’s performance and the crude oil allocation.
