SME was an automotive supplier that operated four plants in Michigan and Indiana. Its products included high volume machined parts (engine, transmission, brake manifolds) and die cast dies from the mold and die plant. The initial and only customer was Ford. Over the next few years, we tripled volume adding new OEM and Tier-I customers including GM, Chrysler, Borg Warner, Kelsey Hayes, New Venture Gear and Japanese suppliers supporting Honda in Marysville, OH.
