The Park Avenue Bank N.A. was a federal-chartered boutique commercial bank, catering to high net worth individuals and family offices based offshore. It provided FDIC-insured deposit-taking, and investment services through US Trust. On the liabilities side, it provided commercial loans for condos, art and other assets. The Bank’s assets increased 12X in 3.5 years from a start-up, before being sold to a European bank seeking entry into the US market.
